Parental Rights After Miscarriage (as of October 2023): In Connecticut, parents have the right to the release and burial of their child. (Please note: A death certificate is mandatory if a stillbirth occurs after 20 weeks of gestation.)

One in four pregnancies ends in a loss, and we are grateful to be able to support families during their darkest times.

Backus Healthcare Main Campus

"Angels Remembered" is a support group for parents who have experienced pregnancy or early infant loss. This group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 7:00-8:30pm. First Candle

First Candle’s peer-to-peer online support groups are a safe and supportive place for individuals and their families to share information and experiences surrounding pregnancy and infant loss.

The Tiny Miracles Foundation

TTMF has parent mentors who have personally suffered the loss of a child and have the unique ability to provide comfort and understanding to bereaved parents. Our volunteers are trained mentors who specialize in supporting other families. Family Centers

Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering education, health and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. More than 225 professionals and hundreds of trained volunteers work together to provide our communities with a wide range of responsive and innovative services.  Our multi-faceted network of health, education and human service programs give individuals and families the tools needed to establish a strong educational foundation, overcome complex and critical problems, carry on healthy productive lives and achieve personal improvement.

Annabella's Angels

Annabella's Angels is A 501(c)(3) non-profit raising funds to purchase and donate a CuddleCot in Annabella and her angel friends' memory so that other families facing the tragic loss of their beautiful babies, due to stillbirth or later term miscarriage, can have the precious gift of time. So far Annabella's Angels has placed CuddleCots 12 and 2 Caring Cradles in Connecticut hospitals and 1 CuddleCot New York hospital. The CuddleCots Annabella's Angels placed were the only CuddleCots in Connecticut. Each CuddleCot costs about $3,000.
