Parental Rights After Miscarriage (as of October 2023): In South Carolina, parents have the right to the release and burial of their child. (Please note: A report is mandatory if stillbirth occurs after 20 weeks of gestation or if the baby weighs 12 ounces or more at the time of birth.)

MUSC Health

The Tender Memories Perinatal Loss Support Group helps men and women deal with grief and depression they feel after losing a pregnancy. This free group, led by obstetric nurses trained in pregnancy bereavement issues, meets the second and fourth Monday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Prenatal Wellness Center, 135 Cannon Street, Suite 202, in Charleston, SC. Piedmont Women’s Center

Mothers who suffer the loss of a child often find it difficult to navigate through their emotions. Grieving is hard. If you have lost a child, our Child Loss Support Team is here for you. You don’t have to grieve alone. 

Catalyst for Courage

If you have experienced the unimaginable of losing a child, first let me say I am so sorry. Losing a child is one of the most difficult challenges this life can bring, and I hope you know you don’t have to face it alone. Below you’ll find a list of resources you can access from wherever you are on your journey of healing after miscarriage, infant loss, or stillbirth.

Missing GRACE Foundation’s mission is to provide support, resources and education for families and professional care providers when there is loss of a baby, infertility, or adoption challenges. We offer hope and healing opportunities to G.R.A.C.E. – Grieve, Restore, Arise, Commemorate and Educate.

Naomi’s Circle

The following Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Groups and Subsequent Pregnancy Support Groups are available to parents in the Midlands area of South Carolina (generally, Lexington and Richland Counties).

Prisma Health

Pregnancy loss is hard, but you are not alone. We have support groups to help you cope with your loss and navigate a path forward. 

Part of moving forward is acknowledging your loss and honoring your baby. Our annual Walk to Remember event is designed for this purpose.
